William H. Dow

On October 17, 1942, in Galveston, TX William Henry Dow was born. His birth was a blessing to John Dow, Jr. and Izola Dow, their first-born son, bringing a new level of excitement and adventure to their household. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and sat under the leadership of Rev. J C. O'Conner, Northside Antioch Baptist Church. Later he became one of the founding members of the New Mount Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Isaiah F. Graves. He sang in the choir and was the church's first clerk.

He retired from the city of Houston, where he served as a Park and Recreation supervisor. After retiring he relocated to Crockett, Texas with his "queen" Janice Dow. He remained in Crockett, Texas until his health failed and returned to Houston, Texas to receive proper health care.

On Friday, May 27, 2022, William Dow was called home. He was preceded in death by his parents (John Dow and Izola Graves), his son (William "Billy" Dow), his brother (Horace Dow), and his sister (Belinda Munson), He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Janice Dow, his daughters Teresa Dow and Vicky James (Alfred), his sons Johnny Dow, Tariq Muhammed, Lionel Dow (Monique), William C. Dow (Julia), Jason Collier, William T. Collier, 22 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren and his siblings Edward Dow, Ray Dow, Kethree Davis (Elige), Olie Wilson (Earlie Wilson) and Rev. Maurice Graves (Regina) as well as his many nieces and nephews.
