Ms. Viola Helen Green Viola was born April 1, 1920, in Sunnyside Texas to parents Alberta Muse and Orange Venson. She was the firstborn of the union. She was educated in the Bob Burton school until she left to care for her younger siblings after the death of her mother.

Viola loved the Lord and was raised in a family that attended church regularly. She joined Church and gave her life to Christ at a very young age. She was a faithful member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church until its closure. She then transferred her membership to Downey United Methodist in San Felipe, Tx. She worshiped there faithfully until declining health prevented her from attending services. After it was no longer possible for her to attend in person, she continued to receive Holy communion monthly from her traveling pastor.

Viola Worked many years for the Houston Independent School District. However; the position that brought her the most joy was the years she spent caring for and as a travel companion to the children of Mr. Benjamin Mock. Her travels with the Mock Family allowed her to travel across the entirety of the United States and make many unforgettable memories.

Viola met and married Milam Wilkins in 1936. To that union three children were born, Dorothy, John, and Milam Jr. In addition to that union Viola was married two more times. She was married to Mr. Sam Green and Mr. Ernest Chatman.

Viola or "Madea" as she was fondly called by her children departed this earthly life on Monday, September 26th at 7:08 am. She quietly slipped into eternity while being cared for by her daughter and granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her parents Alberta and Orange Venson Sr, husband Sam Green, Son John Wilkins, Grandson Donny Wilkins, Grand-Daughter Tonya Wilkins, Great Grand Daughter Dione Hall, sisters Erma Smith, Alberta Miles, Verna Stewart, Loy Dean Falls, and brother Orange Venson Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, Daughter Dorothy Hall (widowed), Son Milam Wilkins Jr. (widowed), Grandchildren Darrell Hall (Billie), Renee Feldman, Sylvia Hall, Felicia Wilkins, (Johnny), Angela Wilkins, Gary Wilkins, and Kerry Wilkins, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Services for Ms. Green will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Duncan Mortuary Chapel which is located at 5806 N.Wayside Dr. Houston, Texas 77028. A viewing will start at 10:00 am followed by an 11:00 am Funeral Service.
