Vera Lee Alexander was born March 16, 1934 to the union of Miller and Gertrude Hudson in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Vera accepted Christ as her Savior at Pentecostal Baptist Church in Cypress, Louisiana at an early age. Vera moved to Houston and became an active member of Sunshine Missionary Baptist Church as an Usher. After moving to Houston, she met and married Louis Lee Alexander, Sr.; and to this union six children were added. Vera was employed in the North Forest School District for over thirty years. She loved watching television and listening to her gospel music.
Vera departed this life on Friday, March 25, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Lee Alexander, Sr., and son, Louis Lee Alexander, Jr., and one daughter, Jacqueline Alexander-Payton.
Vera leaves to cherish her memories, four sons: Phillip, Michael, Christopher and Lester Alexander, Sr.; a host of other family and friends.
Viewing will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 10 - 11am. Immediately followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Both services will be held at Sunshine Missionary Baptist Church , 7946 Attwater St., Houston, Texas 77028. Rev. Jimmy McCollister, Officiating.
