Thelma "Baby" Marie Mann's Obituary
Thelma Marie Mann, affectionately know as "Baby", was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 25, 1944. She was the first of five children born to the union of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thurman and Lydia Brownlow. One sister, Sandra Elaine Brownlow, preceded her in death.
The family moved to Houston, Texas where she was baptized at Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend C. L. Hatchett. Thelma was a graduate of Phillis Wheatley High School class of 1961.
Upon graduation, she met and married the late James I. Mann. To this union three sons were born: Richard Darnell Mann (who preceded her in death), Kenneth James Mann, and Gerald Emmett Mann. Later, she gave birth to a daughter, Deanna Renee Mann. Thelma was a dedicated employee of Palais Royal Distribution Center for over 30 years until retirement. She was a proud, loving mother who was best known for her giving heart and delicious home cooked meals.
On January 29, 2018 Thelma heard the voice of Jesus calling her home from her present state of pain and suffering. She leaves to cherish three children: Kenneth, Gerald, and Deanna; three grandchildren, Talia, James, and Javian; two great- grandchildren, Brandy and Brandon; one daughter-inlaw Alisha; two sisters, Estella Bobbie Ellis (Jeffery), and Diane Mamie Williams (Larry), one brother, John Henry Brownlow, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Visitation starting at 9am followed 10am funeral service, at Greater Pure Light Missionary Baptist Church, 12330 Vickery St., Houston, Texas 77039 - Pastor Darryl L. Broussard officiating.
Interment at Paradise North Cemetery, 10401 W. Montgomery Rd., Houston, Texas 77088.
