Mother Shirley Jean Rawls
1938 - 2022

Shirley Jean Washington Rawls was born on September 4, 1938 in Camilla, Texas to Jimmie Lee Washington and Hettie Harden Washington.
On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, Shirley Jean Washington Rawls gained her heavenly wings and was welcomed into His Heavenly Kingdom at the age of 83.

Upon arrival at the Gates of Heaven she was greeted with open arms by her husband, R. D. Rawls; mother, Hettie Washington; father, Jimmie L. Washington; and brother, Jackie Washington.  Her beautiful life and precious memories will continue to be celebrated by her children, Rodney Rawls, Jimmy Rawls, and Shiretta Rawls; granddaughter, Morgan Campbell; three brothers, Jimmie Guillory (Marjorie), Kenneth Washington, and James Washington (Sarah) of Houston; three sisters, Katie Mitchell of Port Arthur, Melinda Stevenson (Luttrell) of Dallas, and Paulette Washington Edwards of Millington, TN; one sister in-law, Millie Rawls of Houston; one brother in-law, James Rawls (Cora) of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other cherished family and friends.

Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022.  A visitation will be held from 10 am to 10:55 am. Funeral service will began at 11:00 am.  Both services will be held at Williams Memorial Temple Church of God In Christ, 2524 Delano St., Houston, TX. 77004.  Dr. Charles Hill, Senior Pastor of Norton Memorial Temple Church of God in Christ, Eulogist and Pastor Craig Carter, Officiant.

Burial will take place on Monday, March 7, 2022 - 11 am, at Paradise North Cemetery, 10401 W. Montgomery Rd., Houston, TX. 77028.
