On the blessed day of November 14, 1946, in Plain Dealing, LA, Roy Lee Florence was born to Eddie and Willie Belle Florence. Roy accepted Christ at an early age. He was educated in the Plain Dealing Public School System. Roy Lee was married to Ida Belle for 44 years, and this union produced a beautiful family. Roy had a big heart, loved to listen to his blues, and he was always considerate of others. Roy will be missed and remembered by all who had the pleasure to grace his presence.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Willie Belle Florence. Siblings Applenese Scott, James Florence, Arthur Lee Florence.

He leaves behind: his loving wife, Ida Belle Florence; two (2) siblings, Elizabeth Florence and Eddie (Sally) Florence, both of California; seven (7) children, Roy (Tammy) Florence, Jr., Lotrece (Sheldon) Pickett, Latrish (Tyrone) Stevenson, Willie (Danny) Parker, and Walter (Eric) Parker, all of Houston, Texas, and Elizabeth (Michael) Chiles and Regina Florence, both of California; thirteen (13) grandkids, Gabrielle, Breanna, Alijah, Shyniece, Destiney, Misheal, Malkolm, Malik, Teshia, Moshaun, Johnny, Desean, Xavion, and Keishon; fifteen (15) great-grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 11:00 at Duncan Mortuary located at 5806 N. Wayside dr. Houston, Texas 77028.
