Roosevelt Franklin's Obituary
Roosevelt Franklin was born on October 13, 1957 in Houston, Texas to the late Benjamin Franklin, Sr., and Doretha Franklin.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. T. J. Compton.
He attended the Mt. Canaan Church Kindergarten School under the late Sis. Esther Compton, Settegast Elementary, and graduated from Forest Brook High School in Houston, Texas.
Roosevelt was employed over the years with Tex-Pack Company and later started his own lawn care service in the Settegast community where he was well known and loved by many.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1999, and his mother in 2008; sister Rose Brooks Wilson in 2001; brother; Clarence Franklin, and sister Emma Jean Franklin Wyatt in 2011.
He leaves to cherish in his memories, 2 brothers Benjamin Franklin Jr., and Morris Lewis; 1 sister Laura Franklin; niece LaNetria' Franklin; 10 nephews; brother-inlaw James Wyatt, Sr. He is also survived by a special friend, Mrs. Barbara Phillips and close neighbor Janie Murray; a host or other relatives and close friends.
Homegoing Celebration will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2016. Visitation will began at 10am followed by funeral service at 11am. Services will be held at Duncan Mortuary Chapel, 5806 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028. Rev. Maceo Dillard, Jr., will be officiating.
Burial in Golden Gate Cemetery, 8400 Hirsch Rd., Houston, Texas 77016.
