Robert McAuthor Thomas, Sr., was born on October 11, 1943 in New Iberia, Louisiana to the parentage of Will Thomas and Mattie Odom Thomas.  He passed away on January 16, 2019 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Robert was the second youngest of six children.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Robert was joined in holy matrimony to Catherine Wright for 44 years.  He retired from Central Freight Line after serving over 20 years as a truck driver.  He was also a passionate entrepreneur.  He was a caring, honest, hardworking and wise man.

Robert was baptized at an early age and he knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

He leaves to mourn:  his wife Catherine Thomas; his children, Robert Thomas Jr. (Emma), Roderick Thomas (Kendra), Lajuana Steward (Ed), Marcus Holmes (Alice), Kimberly Jones (Ronnie), Bridgette Thomas, Michael Thomas (Krystal), Keisa Joan-Oguntade (John); 21 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.  Visitation starting at 10 am followed by funeral service at 11 am.  Both services will be held at Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, 7815 Ley Rd., Houston, Texas 77028 - Pastor Jackson, officiating.

Burial will take place at Cemetery Beautiful, 8401 Wheatley St., Houston, Texas 77088.
