Robert Paul Norris' Obituary
Robert Paul Norris was born on November 20, 1944 to Alphonse Norris, Sr. and Daisy Lou Norris in Houston, Texas. He attended Houston Independent Schools.
Paul enjoyed building and repairing things and for many years was employed as a construction worker for highway construction companies. He continued this work until his health began to fail.
While he enjoyed cooking, Paul shared his skills with family and friends, and was especially known for his delicious fried chicken and barbeque.
Paul received Christ as his Savior in his sixties and was baptized at First St. Mark Baptist Church, Houston, Texas under the pastorate of Dr. Murphy D. Simon, Jr.
Preceding him in death are Paul's parents, Alphonse Norris, Sr. and Daisy Lou Norris.
The Lord called Paul home and he entered into Heaven's gates on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
He leaves to cherish precious memories: two sisters, Gloria Norris Tapscott and Erma Norris Johnson (Clabron); brother Alphonse Norris Jr. (Delores); three nephews, Kevin Tapscott (Renita), Alphonse Norris III, Haven Alphonse Norris; three nieces, Kathy Norris (Austin), April Simon (Murphy), and Denise Norris. In addition to his best friend, Rudy Gordon, Paul leaves a host of other relatives and long time Fifth Ward neighborhood friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Viewing starting at 10am immediately followed by funeral service at 11am. Both services will be held at Bethel Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, 5530 Selinsky Rd., Houston, Texas 77028 - Rev. Dr. Murphy D. Simon, Jr., Pastor.
