Richard C. Ryans' Obituary
Mr. Richard C. Ryans was born on October 26, 1940 to the loving parents of Dave and Thelma Harrell Ryans in Livingston, Texas.
He attended Dunbar High School in Livingston, Texas. After graduation, he received a Scholarship in football for Prairie View A&M University. He was the starting quarterback for a short period of time.
Richard met and married Laurine Freeman and to this union, five children were born: Ricky, Robert, Ronald, Rhonda, and Shannon.
Richard worked for Grocery Supply for several years. He continued his career under the employment of Bill Roach, Inc., as a supervisor.
On October 14, 2016 Richard answered God's call. He was preceded in death by both parents, Richard and Thelma Ryans; one son Robert Charles Ryans; and two brothers, Robert T. Harrison and Howard Ryans.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Richard Colquitt (Sharon), Ricky Clint Ryans, and Ronald Clark Ryans; two daughters, Shannon Renee Bradshaw (Bryant), and Rhonda Ryans Lee (Clarence); two brothers, Clarence Branch and Raymond Ryans; one sister Joan Lynn Ryans; grandchildren, Chasinique Ryans, Shandale Greeno, Rickey Ryans Jr., Riana Ryans, Lance Ryans, and Devonte McGee; great grandchildren, Jayla McIntosh, Jaidan Jackson, and Aiden Joseph; many devoted family members.
Services for Richard C. Ryans will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 - 1pm, at Duncan Mortuary Chapel, 5806 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028 - Minister Kelvin J. Pierre, Eulogist.
Burial will take place at Paradise North Cemetery, 10401 W. Montgomery Rd., Houston, Texas 77088.
