1931-2023

Minnie Lee Evans was born on April 17, 1931, in Wallis, Tx to the late Ennis and Lizzie Evans. She was the youngest of six children. At an early age, Minnie confessed to Christ at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, in Wallis, Tx. Then later became a faithful member of Greater New Sanctuary Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. R.L. Farley.

After successfully completing high school in Wallis, Tx she moved to Houston, Tx, and married Moulton Garnett in 1948. Minnie had a passion for helping others and this led her to Houston Community College to begin her career as a Nurse. She worked at Memorial Hermann Hospital until her retirement.

After years of marriage to Moulton Garnett, the pair divorced. Later Minnie then met and married the true love of her life, Lee Leach. Together, they

loving raised twelve children until his death in 2001.

On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, after a fruitful life, a vibrant heart stopped beating, and gentle hands were put to rest as Minnie Leach crossed into

eternity. Proceeding Minnie in death are her parents, her three brothers, two sisters, her late husbands, and her two daughters; Nadine and Wanda Garnett, her four sons; Zachery Garnett, Ronald, Larry, and Danny Leach and her oldest grandson Adrian Garnett.

She is survived by her daughters; Toni Leviston and Pamela Baldwin, and her sons; Anthony Garnett (Carol), Gary Leach (Linda), Ennis Garnett, and Byron Garnett (Pamela). Her 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great-grandchildren , her goddaughter Patsy Hulitt and a host of family and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Greater New Sanctuary Missionary Baptist Church 7434 Springdale Dr, Houston, TX 77028

A viewing will start at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral service at 11:00 am.
