Mary Eugene Wallace's Obituary
Mary Eugene Wallace was born to Georgia Olia and John Eugene Jr., on January 29, 1921 in Reedville, La. She attended the old Gregory School in 4th Ward here in Houston. She worked as a presser for many years. She was a very warm and gracious Christian woman, and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church until she moved to Scenic Woods and joined the congregation at Garden Grove Christian Church where she has been a member for over 47 years. She loved going to her church, reading, and working in her yard. She dearly loved by her children and grandchildren.
She departed this life, from where she wanted to be, at home, on Wednesday, November 17, 2016. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Georgia and John Eugene Jr.; husband Taylor Dave Wallace; brother Robert "Sonny Boy" Eugene; and daughter Joan Delores Flournoy.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Donald Meloncon (Druscilla), Thomas Meloncon (Barbara), Quincy Ross (Rhonda), daughter Edna Joe Lee Jones; sister Evelyn Eugene Bernard (Al Vincent); grandchildren, Jamel, Michael, Ahmad, Maisha, Kimaada, Dondre', Crystal, Candace; a host of nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. Visitation from 10 to 10:55am followed by funeral service at 11am. Services will be held at Garden Grove Christian Church, 4802 Pardee St., Houston, Texas 77028.
Burial will take place in Cemetery Beautiful (Houston, Texas).
