Lucky Everette's Obituary
Sergeant Lucky (James) Everette was born on February 26, 1938 in Hilton, Georgia to Darby Everette and Alma Yarbrough. He departed this life and went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2016 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Ebenezer Methodist Church.
He graduated from Washington High School in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduation, he joined the United States Army. After receiving his honorary discharge he moved to Houston, Texas where he met his first wife, Evie Lee Marshall. He later started his own construction company, P & E Construction. He also joined the National Guard Airborne Rangers, which was his greatest passion. After 20 years of dedication, he retired and started his own construction company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Darby Everette and Mrs. Alma Yarbrough, and his loving first wife Evie Lee Everette.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memory: his second wife, Paulette Montgomery; her children Mary, Sharonda, and Troy: his six children, Peggy (June) Bobby Glenda (Michael), Yvette (Kelvin), Darrin (Melissa), and Dwayne (Crystal); two sisters, Dorothy, and Geraldine (Jerri); one brother Robert; twenty grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be held Monday, September 26, 2016. There will be a visitation starting at 10am, followed by 11am funeral service. Both services will be at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 7818 Bonaire St., Houston, TX., 77028 - Rev. Lee E. Skinner, Pastor.
Interment will take place in Houston National Cemetery (Houston, Texas), at 1PM.
