Loretta Johnson Barnes was born to the union of Sidney and Gustavia Johnson on June 24, 1961 in Houston, Texas. She was called home to be with the Lord on November 23, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 of her siblings, Norma, Edra, and M.L.
Loretta made an early acceptance and acknowledgement of her love for Christ. She was a graduate of Forest Brook High School and attended Houston Community College.
Loretta worked as a medical office manager in the Texas Medical Center. She was united in marriage to Hayward Barnes on October 10, 1999. Their loving union lasted until
God called Loretta home.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Hayward Barnes; 3 sisters Gloria Thompson (Eddie), Gussie Robinson and Rita Thomas; 3 aunts Ellen White,
Janie Lynch, and Rita Babers; uncle Fred Babers; stepdaughter Kim Brown; sister-in-laws, Grace Thomas and Sarah Holbert; brother-in-laws James Dennis Barnes and David Drain; nephews Travis Robinson (Linda), DeCedric Lewis (Raven), Daniel Thompson and Rodney Johnson; nieces Tamika Murray (Reginald), Nicole Thomas,
Chianti Thomas and Bianca Thomas; a very special great nephew Nico Prince; 2 life long friends/sisters Sandra Blackmon and Santa Batts; and a host of other grand-
children, great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018. Visitation 10am followed by 11am funeral service at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 2702 Emancipation Ave.,
Houston (77004) - Dr. Terrance Grant Malone, Pastor and Officiant.
Burial will take place on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX. 77028 at 11:30am.
