On September 7, 1934, J.B. Perkins and Lelia North Perkins gave birth to their second child named Lizzie Ann Perkins, in Hallettsville, Texas.  Lizzie lovingly became known as "Tut".  Early in her life her family relocated to Louise, Texas.  During her formative years she attended Public Schools and graduated from Edna High School.

After completion of her studies, she met Elmo Hargrove, Sr. and the two were united in Holy Matrimony.  To this union - Margaret and Elmo, Jr. were born.  Sadly, Margaret passed away at birth.  Tut moved to Houston, Texas and dedicated her career to the Texaco Company for over 40 years.

At an early age, Tut confessed and accepted Christ as her personal savior.  Her Love for Christ was evident through her participation in numerous church ministries.  She was an active choir member at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.  She utilized her talents in several areas at Pleasant Green including the usher and mission ministries as well as a custodian.  She devoted and maintained her church membership to Pleasant Green until she was called home.

Tut was devoted to her siblings and family.  Even as her health started to decline, she attended every family event gathering.  Her infectious smile, love for Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream and sweets always brightened the family gatherings.

On January 26, the Lord opened Heaven's gates for Lizzie Ann "Tut".  Welcoming Tut to her heavenly home is her Father, Mother, Margaret, brothers J.B., Merron, and Curtis, and her daughter-in-law, Alva.  She is survived by her son, Elmo Jr.; grandchildren Tashula, and Krystal; great-grandchildren, Xaiya and Xaria; brothers, Jessie (Frankie), and Clarence; sisters Iona Mae, and Lilia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Celebration of Life for Lizzie Ann Perkins-Hargrove will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2020.  Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. - Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., at Spirit of Life Ministries, 485 Maxey Rd., Houston, Texas 77013 - Pastor Quinton Morris, Sr., Officiating.
