Lettie Parker Washington, affectionately known as "Big Mama" was born on August 7, 1917 to Henry and Maria Thymes Parker in Maringouin,LA. She was the fourth of nine children born to this loving family. Lettie accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church until her health failed her in 2008, having to move to Houston, Texas. Lettie's health couldn't keep her from loving the Lord, sewing, cooking and quilting. Lettie was called home to be with her Savior on February 17, 2017. There will be a wake service on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Duncan Mortuary Chapel, 5806 N Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028 from 6- 8 pm. Celebration of life will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11am, Antioch Baptist Church, 642 Payton St., Melville, Louisiana, 71353. Interment - Sweet Home Community Cemetery. Rev.
