Leroy Charlie Henderson
was the second child born to Leroy C. and Cora Barnes Henderson of Polk County, Texas. Being raised in Camden and graduating from the Polk County School District, he attended Wiley College and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Southern University.
Leroy accepted Christ at an early age in Polk County, Texas. He was an active and faithful servant at Morning Star Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. L. D. Leonard for over 40 years.

Leroy met and married Patricia Ann Jefferson and to their union two daughters was born, Gwendolyn and Latisha. He was a devoted and loving husband, caring father, and an inspiration to his family, church, and community.
Leroy served as Principal and Counselor in the Polk County Public School District in Camden, Chester, Leggett and Livingston, Texas as well as a teacher in the Houston Independent School District over 60 years.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, sister, wife and one daughter.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Gwendolyn Lorraine Henderson of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Latecia Dean; and one brother Curtis Henderson.
Services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015. There will be a visitation starting at 10am followed by 11am funeral service, Duncan Mortuary Chapel, 5806 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028.
Burial will take place in Union Springs Cemetery, Camden, Texas.
