HER LIFE STORY

Larcie Mae Qualls was born in New Willard, Texas on February 9, 1930. She was the 3rd child born to Tazzeal and Peoria Davis and the eldest of 11 children with 7 girls and 4 boys. She united with Lone Star Baptist Church in New Willard, Texas as a child. She attended Dunbar High School where she graduated in 1948 and met her soul mate Scott Lee Qualls. Larcie Mae was an avid basketball player where she held the position as a point guard. Larcie Mae remained a faithful member of New Life Missionary Baptist Church until she and her husband united with
the Garden of Gethsemane which later became Northland Missionary Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member and served as the first church secretary, member of Mission I and II, and served in the sanctuary choir as a strong tenor.

Larcie Mae served and nurtured others and all 5 of her children, Bennie Lee Qualls, Tommy Lee Qualls, Larcie Marie Qualls, Dennis Lee Qualls, and Lynn Corine Qualls. She was very active and played a vital role in the education of her 5 children. She served several years as PTA president at Settegast Elementary and B.C. Elmore. In her leisure, she enjoyed attending to her flowers, sewing, and making sure she didn't miss any of her children and grandchildren activities at school. Larcie Mae worked part time as a bus driver for HISD and worked as a security guard
for Grocery Supply Company after retiring in 1997. At the time of her death Larcie Mae was a resident of Focus Care Humble nursing home. She was 95 years old and was loved by everyone with her infectious smile. Larcie Mae was preceded in death by her husband Scott Lee Qualls, her two daughters Larcie Smith, Lynn Brown, and her son Tommy Lee Qualls. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Two Sisters Bettye Birden (Billy Birden) and Claudie Renfro along with her two sons Bennie Qualls (Shirley Qualls), Dennis Qualls (Lisa Qualls) and a host
of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Service will be held at Northland Missionary Baptist Church, 5606 Hopper Rd, Houston, Texas 77016. The viewing will begin at 9:00 am, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Paradise South Cemetery. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
