On August 21, 2026, God called Kevin home at the age of 63. To enter a peaceful rest with no more sickness or pain. Kevin was born on February 13, 1963, in Houston, Texas, to the late Willie James Thomas and Nettie Faye Thomas.

At the age of 4, he and his family relocated to Kansas, where they attended the Church of Christ. In 1973, Kevin and his family returned to Houston, where he attended school in Galena Park School District, and graduated.

After high school, Kevin enrolled in the Art Institute of Downtown Houston to pursue his passion in Art. He later went on to work several jobs in various fields before retiring in 2019. He became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor A.D. Norton and, later, Pastor Jeffrey Todd until he became sick and was called home.

Kevin was a kind and generous person who donated to various organizations through a Foundation that he created to help those in need, and He also volunteered his time to feed the homeless. He always loved spending time with his family, taking long drives, and working in his home and yard.

He is preceded in death by his older brother Willie Earl Thomas, oldest sister Dana Diane McDonald, his father Willie James Thomas, grandparents, and three uncles, L.V. Harper, Johnny Thomas, and Curtis C. Harper. 

Kevin leaves to cherish his memory Nettie Thomas (Mother) of Channelview, Texas; stepmother Wilma Thomas of Minden, Louisiana; two sisters, Ida Watkins of Channelview, Texas, and Mercy Handy (David) of Katy, Texas; one brother, Andrew Tibbs of Houston, Texas; two aunts, Gloria Teamer of Humble, Texas, and Phyllis Harper of Houston, Texas. Three uncles: Jerry Harper, Douglas Harper, and Tellus Thomas of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law Henry McDonald; girlfriend Felicia Carrington and her son Christian Carrington of Houston, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1230 Maxine Street, Houston, Texas 77029. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with Rev. Jeffrey Todd officiating. Interment will take place at Paradise Funeral Home & Cemetery North, 10401 West Montgomery Road, Houston, Texas 77088. Repast will immediately follow the interment service in the fellowship hall.

Kevin Dwayne Thomas will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him.
