Mr. John Henry Sterling Sr. was born March 31,1941, in Minden Louisiana to the parents Sammie and Essiree Bryant Sterling. John accepted Christ at an early age. He attended church regularly with his grandparents. Later on in Life John moved to Houston Texas where he graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School in 1959. HE married his high school sweetheart Johnnie Mae Wade and to this union, five children were born. He was gainfully employed by. National Photographic Laboratory for over 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren he would often sit and chat with them and impart life lessons that they carry with them daily. He loved cookouts, taking his grands to the park and listening to all genres of music especially jazz and the blues.

On October 29, 2019 John Henry Sterling Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Son Monte V. Sterling, Brother Hollie Davidson, Stepson Keith Wilson and Great Grandson Kyrien Walker.

He leaves to treasure his memories Wife Billie Sterling, Children Renee Walker (Sylvester), Bonita Sterling (Tilford), John Henry Sterling Jr., and Wendy Sterling; Stepdaughter Kendra Jackson (Ronnie); Sister Dorothy Hamilton and Cousin Richard Sterling; 14 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren along with a host of Nieces, Nephews , Family and Friends.

Services for Mr. Sterling will be held on Saturday November 9, 2019 at Duncan Mortuary Chapel which is located on 5806 N.Wayside Dr. Houston Texas, 77028.

Service will start promptly at 11:00 am with Pastor B.K. William officiating
