John Singletery's Obituary
John Singletery
was born September 15, 1954. He was affectionately known as "Johnny Boy" by friends and family.He attended school at Forest Brook High School. He was a licensed insurance agent for many years.
He attended the Police Academy and became an officer for the Houston Police Department, as well as serving as captain of multiple security firms. Above all his achievements he was a man of God, a respected licensed ordained minister, and an excellent father.
He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age. He joined Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where he was an Associate Minister under the leadership of Pastor Samuel Compton Sr. He later joined with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. Denny R. Johnson.
John had a beautiful singing voice. Family and friends would often ask him to sing during a Celebration of someone's Life. John was also committed to his lawn service business.
On December 18, 2015 John Singletery was called for eternal rest to live with God.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his auntie (who was a dear mother to him), Marjorie Griffin; wife Ingrid, and her daughter Jeaneane; sons Maxie and Johnathan; grandchildren De-Terrius, Le-Darius, and Caden; special cousins Donald, Kay, Gwen, Isaac, Paul (Judy), and Sophia; special aunts Maggie, Emily, and Bobby; and a host of many other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 26, 2015. Visitation will start at 10am followed by funeral service at 11AM. Both services will be held at Greater New Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, 7518 Bywood St., Houston, Texas 77028. Pastor Earl Edwards - Rev. Denny R. Johnson, Eulogist.
Burial will take place in Paradise North Cemetery, 10401 W. Montgomery Rd., Houston, TX. 77088
