A True Soldier of the Cross

JC Norwood Jr. was born on September 12, 1937, in Austin, Texas, to JC Norwood Sr. and Dorothy Norwood Vallie. Known for his quiet strength, JC honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He proudly earned his high school diploma while in the service. He maintained a strong work ethic throughout his career, working as a skilled welder at Welders International Technology and later spending a long tenure at Holiday World before retiring in 2020.JC was, above all, a faithful follower of Christ. He served at Mt. Corinth Baptist Church under Pastor A. Louis Patterson Jr. and Pastor Alan L. Patterson, later joining Greenwood Village Baptist Church under Pastor Skinner. JC loved reading Scripture, sharing the Word, and praying for everyone he met—a ministry he beautifully continued even from his sickbed. His community will forever cherish his favorite faithful response: "If the Lord says so."
