Janice Merritt Womack's Obituary
Janice Merritt Womack was born on July 6, 1950 in Houston, Texas to the parentage of Rev. Lindsey J. Merritt and Flavia Gant Merritt. She attended school and graduated with the class of 1969 from B. C. Elmore High School in Houston, Texas.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Sunshine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. W. D. Banks and the late Rev. Beverly. Later in life she became a member of Jordan Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Danny Davis.
Janice united in holy matrimony to Lemond Womack in June of 2005. She was a home healthcare worker from 1995 to 1999, and worked for Pacific Railroad from 2010 to 2015.
Janice Merritt Womack went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Lindsey J. Merritt and Flavia Gant Merritt; sister Gwendolyn Merritt, and brother Melvin Merritt.
Left to cherish Her memories: 2 sons Sherwin Merritt and Stacy Merritt; 2 grandchildren, Giovanni and Pierre Merritt; siblings George Merritt (Nell), Ida Churman, Lindsey J. Merritt (Billie), Brenda Joyce Merritt, Larry James Merritt, Dianna Merritt, Nathaniel Merritt, Calvin Merritt, Michael Leroy Merritt, Wayne Kenneth Merritt, and Flavia Merritt Barnett; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life for Janice Merritt Womack will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016. Visitation will began at 10am followed by 11am funeral service. Services will be held at Fellowship of Enlightenment Church (New Community), 9005 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028 - Pastor Lawrence E. Woods.
Interment will take place in Cemetery Beautiful (Houston, Texas).
