James Elton Jones, age 76, passed away peacefully on Mother's Day, May 12, 2019 in Houston, Texas.  James was born May 16, 1942 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Early Sr., and Liola King Jones.  He attended B. C. Elmore High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969 when he was honorably discharged.  He was a gifted carpenter by trade and could build anything on which he laid his eyes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruthie Mae Johnson, and brothers Early Jones, Jr., Vernon Jones, and Leonard Jones.  He leaves to cherish his memory; brother Evans Jones (Bobbie), brother Albert Jones (Siverene), sister Earlene Jones Boldon (Roy), sisters-in law Betty Jones and Jo Ann Jones, beloved nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.

The visitation will be held at 10 AM and the funeral service at 11 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Duncan Mortuary, 5806 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028.

Interment Monday, May 20, 2019 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX., 77038.  9:45 AM gate time.
