James Earl Burch's Obituary
James Earl Burch (aka Cookie, JB, and Pops), was a blessing born on October 9, 1946 to loving parents, James and Helen Davis in New Williard, Texas.
James attended public school in the North Forest School District and graduated from B. C. Elmore High School. He later joined the United States Army where he earned the Bronze Star.
Upon completion of his military career, James returned to Houston seeking employment. He began a career with St. Luke's Hospital until retirement. During these years James met and married the love of his life Pamela Stevens Alexander. To this marriage two children were born. James loved his family. He was a person who never met a stranger. He loved being the life of the party, especially when playing dominoes. He also loved writing poems. James received a letter of recognition for a poem he wrote to President Obama.
On June 29, 2016 the Lord called James home. He was preceded in death by both parents, James and Helen Burch, and one sister Evelyn Burch Capeheart.
James leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Pamela Burch; son James Burch Jr. (Chealsey), and daughter Helen Walker Ardoin; five grandchildren, Kaleb Burch, I'Janae Burch, Arianna, Tayla and Skylar.
His eternal passing will also be missed by a collective number of other family members and friends; special god-sons Lewis McGee, Christopher Goodson, Nolan Jones, and Larry Capeheart Jr.
Homegoing Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016. Visitation will began at 10am followed by funeral service at 11am. Services will be held at Northland Missionary Baptist Church, 5606 Hopper Rd., Houston, Texas 77016 - Rev. F. L. Fillmore - Officiating.
Interment will take place Monday, July 11, 2016 in Houston National (VA) Cemetery at 11:15am.
