Gloria Jean (Page) Taylor was born on November 15, 1939 in Flora, Louisiana to loving parents Joe and Rebecca (Washington) Page.  She was affectionately called, "Dear Friend", "Queen",  "Mama", and "Granny".  But the greatest title bestowed upon her was servant.  She was a faithful servant in her home, her church, and the community, leaving a legacy unmatched.

At an early age, Gloria received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at Allen Burr Missionary Baptist Church and chose to live a life as servant to mankind.  She was a member of True Unveiling Christian Center Church, Rev. Reginald Fears, Pastor.  During her stay in Dallas, Texas, she faithfully attended Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church, Rev. Warren Bradford, Pastor.  Everywhere Mama Gloria went, she shed her light.

Gloria attained her formal education in Leesville, Louisiana and later received her cosmetology license from Espinoza Beauty College in Houston, Texas and eventually opened her own salon.

She met and married J. B. Taylor and thus formed the union of the Taylor-Page family. Gloria and her husband (J.B.) had many businesses.  Together, with their children, they opened and operated three restaurants, a construction company, and later on a janitorial service at various times.  As a family they worked hard and played even harder.  Sunday evenings and holidays were special moments for food and fun, always ending with a hotly contested baseball game in the  field behind the house.

Early Sunday morning, on February 9, 2020 Gloria Jean entered into eternal rest.  She is preceded in death by her beloved sons, Sterling Robert (Harriet), Marcel Taylor (Dale), and daughter Pearline Taylor.

She is survived by her sisters, Eugenia Roberson, and Annie Julian; brother Collins Page; 11 children, Arnold Lee Pope, Harriette Alexander, Ruth Smith (Arthur), Connie Page, Farrell Taylor, Fredrick Taylor (Geneva), Kolonia Kaye Woods, Ruth Ella Boatley, Barbara Ann Taylor, Sandra Gail Jolivet, and Vanessa Williams; 29 grandchildren, 36 great-grand children, 6 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020.  Visitation 9 am to 10:45 am, followed by funeral service at 11:00 am.  Both services will be held at Together We Stand Christian Church, 1432 Texas Pkwy., Missouri City, Texas 77489 - Bishop Allen Rice, Sr., Pastor - Rev. Reginald Fears, Eulogist.
