Frank Braden, age 90 was born to Raful and Ivory Lugene Braden on January 16, 1932, in Clarence, LA. He was the fourth of fourteen children (the oldest son) and was affectionately called "Brother".

Frank accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greenville Baptist Church in Clarence, LA.  Frank graduated from Central High School in Natchitoches, LA.  During his tenure at Central H.S., he was a basketball star and captain of the basketball team.  After graduation, he was drafted into the US Army where he proudly received an honorable discharge.

In 1955, Frank migrated to Houston, TX trailblazing the path for his parents and siblings except for three sisters who had already begun families.  He joined Northside Antioch Baptist Church.

On January 26, 1957, he married the love of his life, Oscarene Miller and they celebrated 65 years of marriage.  Frank is the proud father of five (5) children, nine (9) grandchildren, and seven (7) great-grandchildren, who lovingly refer to him as "Paw Paw"

Frank has been a faithful member of Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church for 65 years, where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and President of the Choir for numerous years.  He continuously served as a role model in his church and community.

After retiring from Armour Meat Packing Company as a machinist, Frank began his entrepreneurial journey in real estate investments, commercial services, and various service-based businesses.

Ever so passionate about life, Frank placed great value in God, family, and integrity.  He loved everybody and everybody loved him.  He touched so many lives.  He was well respected and loved by all, especially the 5th Ward/Liberty Road community as a mentor and father figure during his ownership of Braden's Washateria for over forty years.

Frank had a love for old traditional gospel hymns and he loved to sing.  Everyone that knew him can truly say that he loved the Lord, his family, and his church family.

In his leisure, he enjoyed watching sports, spending time with his family, and visiting the sick and shut-in to pray for them and read his bible.

Frank is preceded in death by his father, Raful, and mother Ivory Lugene Braden, and baby daughter Yvonne Braden.  He is also preceded in death by six sisters Myrdia Jones, Gaynell Braxton, Melvina Davis, Adell Crumble, Betty Dixon, and baby sister; five brothers Predo Sr., Otis Sr., Joe Eddie, John Henry, and baby brother Braden.

Frank is survived by his wife, Oscarene Braden; children Jackie Montgomery, Frank A. Braden (Joy), Cheryl Crawford (Herman), Charlotte Braden, DeAngela "Nikki" Braden.

Grandchildren: Jermeshia Goudeau (Justin), Nicole Handy (Larry), Lakeshia Braden, JaQuita Martin (Christopher), Monay Braden, James Montgomery Jr., Brooklyn Braden-Forte', Ryan Roberts, Kodie Franklin.

Great Grandchildren: Taevion Braden, Grayson Omideyi, Leighton Handy, Harper Goudeau, Blayke Reitzell, Carter Martin, Jackson Goudeau.

Brother/Sister: Thurman Braden, Thelma Rather, Shirley Braden (sister-in-law)

Godchildren: Glenda Mitchell, Rose Marie Miller, Margaret Ann Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the Greater Mt. Zion Church family

Service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, with a viewing at 9:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am both services, will be held at:
