Mrs. Flavia Merritt was born on January 31, 1962, to Lindsey Merritt and Flavia Merritt in Houston, Tx. She was affectionately known as Pat, Patricia Ann, Trish Ann, Aunt Patty, and Mama Pat by those who she loved and cared for. Flavia loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age at Sunshine Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated from Forest Brook High School in 1980, and shortly after, she established a lasting career in the medical field.

In 1983, she met Michael Barnett. They wed and shaped the lives of their two amazing children, Jabari Barnett, and Chelsea Noel.

She joined New Community Baptist Church, now known as The Fellowship of Enlightenment in 1985, where she served as a member of the choir, church clerk, and anything else that the Kingdom of God needed.

She chose to retire from her profession in 2020 to take care of her beloved grandson Devin Noel Jr. Flavia lived her life leaning and depending on God. No matter what happened, she knew that God was in control.

Flavia Merritt was predeceased by her mother and father Lindsey Merritt and Flavia Merritt. Sisters Janice Merritt, and Gwendolyn Merritt. Brothers Calvin Merritt, Michael Merritt, and Melvin Merritt. She is survived by her children Jabari Barnett (Kamara Barnett), Chelsea Noel (Devin Noel), her grandson Devin Noel Jr., siblings George Merritt, Ida Churchman, Larry Merritt, Lindsey Merritt Jr, Brenda Merritt, Diane Merritt, Nathan Merritt, Wayne Merritt, and a host of nieces and nephews.

While she was praising God, Flavia Merritt, 60, of Houston, Tx gained her wings on April 27, 2022 peacefully.
