All Is Well
Death is nothing at all.  I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.  Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used to.
Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed, at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without
effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
just around the corner.

On February 26, 2001, a baby boy was born to loving parents Ernest and Gwendolyn Jones in Houston, Texas.  They proudly named him Evan Dimitri Jones.  Early Sunday morning, on October 29, 2023, Evan transitioned from this earthly life and is now resting in God's heavenly home.

Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023.  Viewing will be held from 10 to 10:55 am, followed by 11 am funeral service, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 4200 Lockwood Dr., Houston, TX 77026 - Dr. S. T. Hillard, Pastor.

Evan will be laid to rest in Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery, 13401 Eastex Fwy., Houston, TX 77039.
