Eric Wayne Coleman, age 49 years passed away on January 19, 2018.  He was born October 12, 1969 to the parentage of James W. Coleman and Ruby Joyce Johnson Coleman in Houston, Texas.  He was the second of three children.

He graduated from Waller High School on May 27, 1988.  After graduation, Eric attended Prairie View A&M University.  He later joined the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.  After the service he became part of the Army Reservist, 449th Engineering Brigade, College Station, TX.

Next, Eric worked for Brenham State School for the disabled as a Supervisor.  Finally, he started his career with Baker Hughes, GE., in the oil and gas industry for twenty-one years in the positions of management and as a machinist.

Eric had many interests and hobbies.  He was known for his gardening skills where he grew okra, collard greens, and tomatoes.  He enjoyed cooking, and loved playing chess with his daughter Kennedy.  Eric was talented as well.  He played the piano and was a pretty good singer.  He was a huge and loyal fan of all the major Texas sports teams and his favorite college team was the University of Texas Longhorns.  His favorite vacation activities were going on yearly cruises.  He enjoyed and had a zeal for life.

Eric attended Gateway Baptist Church in Spring, Texas.

Of all his life accomplishments, Eric's children were his greatest love and joy.

To cherish his memory he leaves his four children Erikah, Christian, Kennedy, and Eric Grey;  wife Vanessa; father James W. Coleman; brother Garrett James Coleman; sister Jamie Christina "Chrissy" Coleman; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 beginning at 1 pm, at Duncan Mortuary Chapel, 5806 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028.
