Effie Mae Koonce-Patterson, born on October 15, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to proud parents Nathan Nathaniel and Georgia McAfee Koonce, passed away on February 10, 2026. She leaves behind a loving family, including her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and many friends.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 10 am, followed by a funeral service at 11 am at Duncan Mortuary Chapel, located at 5806 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, TX 77028. Pastor Russell Hutchison Jr., of the Sunlight Baptist Church community, will officiate the service, and interment will follow at Houston Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Her memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
