Edward Lee Raymond was born on February 23, 1940, to the union of Edward Raymond, Sr. and Selena Raymond in Jeanerette, Louisiana

Edward Lee Raymond received his formal education at Jeanerette Colored High School in Jeanerette, Louisiana.

Edward Lee Raymond was united in holy matrimony with Evelyn Ann Daurbigny on February 5, 1964, in New Iberia, Louisiana. Their union was blessed with two sons, Edward J. Raymond III and Christopher S. Raymond, both of Houston, Texas.

He was employed by Todd Shipyard as a welder.

In his leisure, he enjoyed welding, barbecuing, listening to Blues/Zydeco, and hanging out with family.

Edward Lee Raymond departed this life on September 23, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Raymond, Sr.; mother, Selena Raymond; brothers, Willie Raymond, and Leroy Raymond; sisters, Adeline Raymond and Annie Bell Schannette.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Evelyn Raymond; two sons, Edward Raymond Ill (Cynthia) of Houston and Christopher Raymond of Houston; three grandchildren, Eric Raymond (Fallon) of Houston, Jasmin Landers of Dalhart, Texas, and Kendall Raymond of Houston; a special niece and nephew Truly and Tommy Marks of Virginia; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends

Services for Mr. Raymond will be held on Saturday, October 7, 20223 with a viewing starting at 10:00 am followed by an 11:00 am funeral. Both services will be held at Duncan Mortuary Chapel 5806 N. Wayside Dr. Houston, Texas 77028.
