Dorothy Marie Session
was born on December 2, 1947 in Houston, Texas to George Peters and Maudesta Isiah Peters.
She united in holy matrimony to the late Deacon Ray Donald Session Sr., and was married for 36 years. To this union, four children were born.
Dorothy gave her life to Christ at an early age and united with the Trinity Garden First Baptist Church where she was baptized under the leadership of Rev. P. L. Williams. She later followed her husband and united with New Life In Christ Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Frank A. Maxie. Dorothy served on the Usher Board for many years.
Dorothy was "Granny" to many children of the church as well as her family that she cared for. She was very quiet, never complained and had a loving spirit.
Dorothy M. Session departed this life on Monday, October 12, 2015. Her parents George and Maudesta Peters, husband Ray Donald Session, Sr., two sisters Katherine Diamond and Jo Ann Taylor, all preceded her in death.
Dorothy loved her family and leaves behind to cherish her memories: her brother Joe Louis Adams, her children Patrick N. Session (Teresa), Ray D. Session, Jr. (Shun), Alicia F. Guidry (Clifton), and Rodney A. Session. One step-son Roderick O'Neal, and one god-daughter Jarhonda O'Neal; grandchildren Jasmin Williams (Persell), Jayla Antwine, Jayden Westley, Paige and Megan Session, Trevin Session, LaKisha Derrick, Candi Windom, LaQuinta, Anthony and Johnathan Jones; seventeen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to treasure her memory.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on October 17, 2015 at New Life In Christ Missionary Baptist Church, 8121 West Montgomery Rd., Houston, Texas 77044. Rev. Frank A. Maxie , Pastor - Officiant.
