Donald J. Griffin was born Thursday, November 18, 1954, in Harris County Houston, Texas to the late Isaac Griffin Jr. and Marjorie Griffin.  Donald entered eternal rest on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. Donald graduated from Forest Brook High School in 1972. He accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Caanan Missionary Baptist Church.

Donald worked as a truck driver until his health no longer allowed it. Donald traveled all over the country driving trucks and loved to tell stories of his travels to his family and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his mother and father, Isaac Griffin Jr. and Marjorie Griffin.

To cherish his memory, Donald leaves his siblings: Sharon Griffin, Gwendolyn Nichols, Isaac Griffin, Paul Griffin (Judy), and Sophia Griffin, and brother/cousin, John Singletary; six children: Devonte Delaney (Nakeba), Chiquita Coleman, Dreylyn Griffin (Mary Jane), Tara McCullough, ShaDonna Griffin, and Deon Griffin; 14 grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024.  Viewing will be from 10 am to 10:55 am, followed by 11 am funeral service at Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, 7447 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028. Rev. C. Wiseman, Eulogist and Rev. Samuel Compton, Sr., Pastor.

Interment will take place in Paradise North Cemetery, Houston, TX.
