Wanza

1982-2023

DeMarcus Wanza was born on January 2, 1982, in Houston, Texas, to proud parents Roosevelt and Mildred Wanza. He was a skilled and talented barber in the Settegast community, who became affectionately known as Dip-One to his clients. On July 30, 2023, we bid farewell to a kind-hearted soul who touched the lives of many.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories to be held in the hearts of his family members: his brothers Roosevelt, Jr. (Denise), Paul, and his sister Patricia. Additionally, he will be fondly remembered by his uncles Hubert Collins, Eddie Collins (Mary), and Rufus Collins (Brenda), as well as his aunts Leola Collins, Betty Jackson, Deborah Love, and Winnie Waller. Mark's god-sister, Tamara Prather Dixon, held a special place in his heart, and he will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and clients.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, beginning with a viewing at 9:00 am followed by a 10:00 am funeral service. Services will be held at Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church, located at 4300 Noble Street in Houston, Texas 77020.

Interment: Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery (Pearland, TX).
