Dave Whitaker Jr.'s Obituary
Dave Whitaker, Jr.
was born to Pearl Lee and Dave Whitaker, Sr., on January 20, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was raised in a Christian environment and to fear the Lord. Thus, he accepted Christ at an early age. The Lord blessed Dave Jr. to live Sixty-Six (66) years. He departed this life on Saturday, December 12, 2015.
After graduating from All Saints High School in Pelican, Louisiana he joined the United States Army. He served his country for six years, being decorated with the National Defense Service Medals. He worked for the KYOK Radio Station as a Disc Jockey (DJ) and enjoyed participating in Church Services for the Lord.
Dave Whitaker was preceded in death by his parents: Dave Sr., and Pearl Lee Whitaker; wife Chandra Whitaker; brother Keith Whitaker and several uncles.
Left to cherish his memories: 3 sons David (Alicia), Dave and Curtis (Andrea); 1 daughter Shanita; 2 brothers Lonnie and Richard (Shreveport, LA); 3 sisters, Mary (Kansas City, MO), Regina (Mansfield, LA), and Lisa (Fairfield, CA); 8 grandchildren, 1 aunt, and 2 great aunts; a very special friend Linda Johnson; other close relatives, friends, and neighbors.
Services for Dave will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 - 2:00pm, at Duncan Mortuary Chapel, 5806 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028. Rev. Richard Whitaker, Eulogist.
Burial will take place on Monday, December 21, 2015 in Houston National (VA) Cemetery - 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX. 77038 - 10:45am gate time.
