Darrell Ray Smith Harrell's Obituary
Born according to the Bible in the complete and perfect month of October, on a day of grace, the 5th, in 1953 Darrell Ray Smith Harrell was presented to his mother Mercy D. Harrell in Houston, Texas.
Darrell attended B. C. Elmore Senior High School where he was presented with the opportunity to attend Prairie View A. M. University for special classes in the Culinary Arts of which he excelled.
On February 27, 2016, Darrell made his transition at 4:41am to his final state of peace. He was preceded in death by his father O. C. Smith, and brother Carl E. Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Mercy D. Hall; sister Gladys M. Patterson; brother in-law Barry E. Patterson; 3 aunts Bessie Stephens-Brown, Burnie Dean Jackson, and Mattie L. Ryans; 1 uncle Henry Brown; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016. Visitation will start at 12pm followed by funeral service at 1PM. Both services will be held at Duncan Mortuary Chapel, 5806 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028. Rev. Louis Sidney will be officiating.
Burial will take place at Paradise North Cemetery, 10401 W. Montgomery Rd., Houston, Texas 77088.
