On December 21, 2023, the world lost a radiant soul, and we said our tearful farewell to the heart and spirit of our family, Daphane Evette Blackshire. Born on May 31, 1957, Daphane was more than a sister, mother, and grandmother; she was a giver, a kind and caring person who left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Daphane's heart was an endless well of compassion and generosity. Whether through her nurturing presence or the warmth of her hugs, she made everyone feel seen and loved. She possessed an extraordinary ability to care deeply, and her acts of kindness were a testament to the boundless love within her.

A bossy and direct force of nature, Daphane's straightforwardness was a reflection of her unwavering commitment to those she cared about. Beneath that assertiveness lay a heart that always wanted the best for others, a gentle nurturing spirit that guided and supported with love.

She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, devotion, and a maternal love that overflowed like a river. Daphane is survived by her son, Kevin Blackshire Sr., and his wife, Monica Blackshire, along with her precious grandchildren, Khloe Blackshire, Kevin Blackshire Jr., her surviving siblings, Richard and Joy Blackshire, Daryl Blackshire, Linda Haskett (his partner), Beverly Blackshire, her favorite sister (cousin), Audrey Holloway and a host of family and friends.

As we bid farewell to Daphane, we celebrate the vibrant tapestry of memories she wove—a mosaic of love, laughter, and shared experiences. In her departure, the void is deep, but the warmth of her spirit lingers, bringing comfort to our hearts.

May Daphane's soul find eternal serenity, surrounded by the love of those who preceded her in the journey to the heavenly abode, her parents, Milvet Blackshire and Almarie Cook, and his siblings, Barbara Jo Hunter, Sandra Kaye Hunter, Cedrick Blackshire, and Laquita Blackshire. She will forever be our guiding light, shining brightly in our memories.

Services for Daphane Blackshire will be held on December 30, 2023, at Duncan Mortuary 5806 N.Wayside Dr, Houston, Texas 77028

With a viewing starting at 10:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral.
