Daniel Louis Pickens, born on October 22, 1944, in Onalaska, Texas, entered into eternal rest on September 24, 2024. He was the beloved son of the late Howard and K.C. Pickens. Daniel spent his early years in Onalaska before moving to Houston, Texas, where he resided until his passing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Ethel and Elma, brothers Howard Jr., Almer, and Nola, nieces Alfrieda Marshall and Valerie Marshall, nephews Jessie Clayborn and Tyler Hopkins, and godchild Douglas Dangerfield.

Daniel leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his two daughters, Lander Hall and Arnetra Pickens, along with three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, 1 godchild, 3 sisters-in-laws and many other close relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, with a viewing at 12:30 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm at Duncan Mortuary Chapel, located at 5806 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, TX 77028. Bishop Ed Johnson will officiate, and Rev. R. White will serve as the eulogist.

Daniel will be laid to rest at St. Andrews Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas.
