On May 6, 1946 a gift of love was given to Issac and Lucy Claiborne. They named her Clacy B. Claiborne. Clacy was born in Mansfield, Louisiana; she attended public school and graduated from Desoto High School in Mansfield, Louisiana. She furthered her education at Houston Community College in Houston, Texas; studying to be a Certified Nursing Assistant. Growing up in a loving Christian home, Clacy accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at New Hope MBC under the leadership of Rev McHenry in Mansfield, Louisiana.
Later moving to Houston, Texas where she met and married the love of her life, Eugene Washington. To this union one son was born, whom they named Gerry Wayne Washington.
Clacy was preceded in death by both parents, Issac and Lucy Claiborne, Sr.; brothers: Raymond and Issac, Jr.; sisters: Rosa Lee and Sallie B. Rodriquez; nephews: Clarence and Travis Claiborne.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Gerry (Tanya) Washington; seven grand-children: Gedrick, Girraud, Courtney, Jasmine, LaPorshe and Lonnie, III; three great grand-children; two brothers and three sisters. A host of other relatives, family and friends.
Viewing will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016, 9 - 11am. Immediately followed by funeral service at 11:00am. Both services will be held at Greater Galilee Baptist Church, 4637 Gano St., Houston, Texas 77009. Rev. Willie Claiborne, Jr., Officiating. Interment will be at Brookside Memorial Park.
