Charles McCarty, a lifelong Houston resident, passed away on June 6, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Born on July 14, 1936, in Houston, he lived a full life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family.

Charles proudly served his country as an Army Veteran, holding the rank of Private First Class. He entered active duty in 1958 and was honorably released in 1960. His commitment to the nation was an important part of his life and legacy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Marie Stevens. Together, they shared years of companionship and support.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Charles's life at the Bibleway Baptist Church, located at 1415 Cushing St, Houston, Texas 77019. A viewing will be held on June 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM and concluding at 12:00 PM.

Following the services at the church, Charles will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. The interment will take place on June 23, 2026, beginning at 12:45 PM and ending at 1:45 PM.
