Cecilia Ann Carmen - age 79, passed away on May 13, 2021 in a local hospital.  She was born on July 13, 1941 to loving parents Howard Carmen and Mary Mires Carmen, in Beaumont, Texas.

Cecilia was the product of the Roman Catholic Church and received all sacraments at Our Mother of Mercy Parish in Beaumont.  After graduating from Blessed Sacrament High School, she attended Chenier Business College and was certified in business.  She worked selfishly for businesses in Beaumont, Baytown, and Houston starting with St. Elizabeth  Hospital, and twenty-one years with L.B.J. Hospital where she retired.  A very devout Catholic, she regularly attended Mass and was religious about making novenas to St. Jude.  Often, she'd say she lit a candle in thanksgiving, or for a certain need.

She loved preparing our grandmother's jambalaya and her favorite orange mandarin cake as her covered dishes for family gatherings.  Her hobbies included sewing and solving puzzles.  She volunteered at the Battered and Abused Women and Children's Shelter, and with the foodbank at Our Lady of St. John Catholic Church.

Cecilia is survived by her caring son, Michael Ray Carmen (Rosha), loving grandchildren:  Michael Carmen, Justin Carmen, Angel Michelle Thomas (Nathan Jerome), Katelynn and Nathan Jerome Thomas, Jr.; three sisters, Margaret Winn, Shirley Rickett, and Mary Louise Jackson (Eugene); five nieces, one nephew, four grand nieces, six grand nephews, a host of loving cousins, extended family, and very dear friends.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021.   Viewing at 10am followed by funeral (Mass) service starting at 11 am, at Our Lady of St. John Catholic Church, 7500 Hirsch Rd., Houston, Texas.  Father John J Florez officiating.
