Cassandra Lynn Jenkins' Obituary

A hot summer July day, Clarence and Annette Rose gave birth to their first child, a baby girl by

the name of Cassandra Lynne Rose. She grew up in the Pleasantville community. She attended

Pleasantville Elementary, and Furr High School. She obtained her Bachelors of Education and

Masters in Early Childhood from Prairie View A & M University.

Her spiritual journey began at Greater New Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church (Rev. Albert

Ames), in the Settegast community. She moved her fellowship to St. James Premitive Baptist

Church in 5th Ward under the leadership of Rev. L. Achain, Sr. That journey led her to New Faith

Baptist Church Northeast where late Rev. M. L. Mathis, Sr. was the pastor. Before her health

started to decline, Cassandra joined and fellowshipped at St. Luke Baptist Church in the Settegast

community.

Mrs. Jenkins was a teacher within three (3) school districts, North Forest ISD, Houston ISD, and

Crockett ISD. These districts saw Cassandra as a tough educator. She believed in children getting

an education.

Cassandra met her husband Louis L Achain, Jr. at Greater New Mt. Pleasant MBC in the youth

choir. To that union their precious baby girl was born. Later on in life she met Haywood Pitre,

Sr., who was preceded her in death. A few years later she met Clarence L. Jenkins, Sr., who also

preceded her in death. Many years later Cassandra met and fell in love with James " Buddy "

Moore. To this union no children were born, but the children bought into this marriage were

loved by both with every fiber of her being. Cassandra had many grand and great grandchildren

that she loved dearly.

She leaves to cherish her many memories and love to all of her children, grandchildren, and grea t

grandchildren. Also left to mourn her loss are her siblings: Ordis Kaye Dowell (Ricky) of Linden,

Texas; Clemmie Payne Jr. (Tana) of Lubbock, Texas; Vivian Turner of Las Vegas, NV; Clarence

" DeeDee " Rose (Raina) of Detroit, MI; and Elizabeth Anderson (Gentry) of Tomball, TX; one

faithful aunt LouAnn Rose-Jefferson of Toledo, OH. A host of nieces, nephews, sister in-laws,

brother in-laws, many cousins, and friends who will truly miss her.

Services will be held Saturday September 12, 2020 at St. Luke Baptist Church located on 5418 Haight St. Houston, Tx .

Funeral starting at 1:00pm
