Carlee Simpson's Obituary
Carlee Simpson was born to the late Avery and Emma Simpson on January 21, 1938 in Normangee, Texas. He later moved to Houston, Texas. He attended B. C. Elmore School and joined the U. S. Marine Corp. He work for HL&P for over 25 years until retiring.
He was baptized at an early age at Community Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. L. R. Askew and later joined Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Samuel Compton, Sr. He served faithfully as a Trustee, member of the Brotherhood, and Sunday School. He was also a Masonic Lodge member.
In April 1964, he married Fay L. Tillis, who preceded him in death, but the Lord blest him with another wife and companion Billie Carr in May 2005.
He departed this life November 1, 2016. His only sibling, a sister Mrs. Bettye McHenry, also preceded him in death.
He leaves behind wife, Billie Simpson; daughters, Linda Alexander, Carolyn Scott (Ronnie), Shirley Dirden (Paul), Shantell Haynes, and Deidre Carr all of Houston, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; 1 aunt Daisy Simpson; sister-inlaw Beverly Fisher; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and the Mt. Canaan Church family.
Home Going Services will be held Thursday, November 10, 2016. Visitation starting at 9am followed by 11am Funeral service. Both services will be at Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, 7400 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028 - Rev. Samuel Compton, Sr., Pastor.
Interment will take place in Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038.
