A Blessed Journey
Bobbie Lee Revels was born on a bright and beautiful day, October 12, 1920 to loving parents, Robert Warren and Maude White Warren, in Houston, Texas.
She received her formal education in Houston, Texas from Wheatley High School.
As a young child, God blessed Bobbie to have a loving Christian family that equipped her with the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ. She confessed her belief in the Lord. In the future Bobbie joined Norton Temple Church of God In Christ under the leadership of the late Founder and Pastor, Superintendent R. L. Norton, where she was a faithful servant, and served as a Deaconess until God called her to her heavenly home.
She met the love of her life, Mr. Thomas Revels Sr., and they were united in holy matrimony on March 29, 1939. This union was blessed with two beautiful children, Thomas Revels Jr., and Robert Louis Revels. Later in life Thomas Revels Sr.'s sister, Esther Revels joined the family.
Bobbie owned a daycare where she took care of the neighborhood children and church family kids. She enjoyed cooking and helping others. She was known for her famous family secret "Peach Cobbler" and she was the only one who knew the secret. She loved life and her family was the love of her life. She was a phenomenal wife, mother, and grandmother; Whatever task or favor she was asked to perform, she gave it her all. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her children or grandchildren. Bobbie exhibited a life of compassion, loyalty and integrity, but most of all LOVE.
On Friday, April 1, 2016, the Good Lord called Bobbie home to rest. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Maude Warren; loving husband Thomas Revels Sr.; son Robert Louis Revels; siblings Lillie Stewart, Luther Stewart, Frank Cestro, Bernice Watson, Dorothy Louis, and Mildred Washington.
She leaves to cherish her legacy, Thomas Revels Jr., Esther Hill, Johnnie Marabou, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, the 9th day of April, 2016. There will be a viewing starting at 11am followed by funeral service at 1pm. Celebration services will be held at Norton Memorial Temple Church of God In Christ, 5008 Lucille St., Houston, Texas 77026 - Dr. Charles Hill, Senior Pastor, Officiating.
And She Shall Rest in Paradise North Cemetery, 10401 W. Montgomery Rd., Houston, Texas 77088.
