On Saturday, February 13, 2021, Betty Joyce Deblaw, loving wife and mother, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 79.

Betty was born Betty Joyce Davis, on June 4, 1941 in Houston, Texas.  She was one of eight children born to Charlie and Mayola Davis.  She grew up in the Fifth Ward and attended Wheatley High School.

In 1961, she married the love of her life Wallas Deblaw.  Together they had four children.  And would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on March 23rd.

Betty accepted the Lord young in her life. Betty, Wallas and their children attended Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas for 37 years.  During that time, Betty faithfully taught the Adult Ladies Sunday School class and sang with the Sanctuary Choir.

In 2014, God led Betty, Wallas and their two daughters to Bethany Baptist Church where they are currently members.

Betty was proceeded in death by her parents Charlie and Mayola; son, Jonathan; sister Mable; sister, Yvonne; sister, Delores; step brother Charlie and son-in-law-law, Larry.

Betty is survived by her devoted husband, Wallas; son, Samuel (Carla); daughter, Edwina; daughter, Cassandra.  Others mourning her include: nephew, David, son-in-law, Kenneth, sisters, Etolia,, Mozella, Peggy and brother, Jack.  Also included are her grandchildren: Nikki (Zach); Samantha (Jake); Samuel Jr.; Jazmyn; Joshua; great grandson Logan; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
