Mrs. Betty Jean Dauphine was born on January 26, 1952 to Henry Sr., and Ruby Lee Johnson. Betty was the third child born to this union. She accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at Sunshine Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Dauphine grew up in the Settegast area and graduated from B. C. Elmore High School in 1971. She continued her education and became a licensed phlebotomist. In 1976 Ms. Betty met and married the love of her life, Paul Dauphine, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Dauphine was also preceded in death by both parents, Henry and Ruby Johnson; two brothers: Larry Johnson and Johnnie Belton; and one brother-in-law, Calvin Alexander.

On October 10, 2015, God called Mrs. Dauphine home leaving to cherish her memories; one son, Derone Dauphine (Keyone); one daughter Shannon Brigham (Albert); one brother, Henry Johnson (Cynthia); and one sister, Eleanor Alexander (Anthony). She also leaves to cherish her memories seven grandchildren, a host of other nieces and nephews.

Services will be held, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Sunshine Missionary Baptist Church, 7946 Attwater St., Houston, Texas 77028. Viewing will began at 10:00 AM immediately followed by 11:00 AM service.  Rev. J. McCollister, Pastor - Rev. Andrew McHenry, Eulogist. Interment will be at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery (Pearland, TX).
