Bernetta Spiller-Bennett was born on August 18, 1949 to the late Goree and Robbie White Spiller in Houston, Texas.

She graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in 1968 and attended Espanola Beauty School where she received her vocation in Cosmetology.  She was a faithful member of Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed her.

Bernetta departed this life on July 26, 2015 at LBJ Hospital in Houston, Texas.  Those who preceded her in death and have gone on to be with the Lord are: her parents, Goree and Robbie White Spiller; her daughter Tonya R. Terry; great grand-parents, Jimmie D. White and Ella P. Callier-White, Edmond Spiller and Elma Lee-Spiller.

Left to rejoice in her homegoing are: her husband Carl Bennett, Jr., son Victor T. Terry, and daughter Tiffany D. Terry; 3 sisters Robbie E. Spiller, Johnnie M. Spiller-Allen (Cooper R. Allen), and Sundra D. Spiller-Hayes (Julius Hayes); 1 brother Earl K. Spiller (Faye Spiller); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015.  Visitation will start at 10am followed by 11am funeral service.  Both services will be held at Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church, 4300 Noble St., Houston, Texas 77020 - Pastor Leonard N. Barksdale officiating.

Burial will take place in Sandfield Cemetery, Evergreen, Texas.
