Anthony "Tony" Richard was born to Percy and Bernice Richard on September 13, 1951, in Houston, Texas. He grew up in the Settegast area of Houston, TX where he attended the local schools and graduated from B.C. Elmore High School where he was a class officer.

Tony accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church and later united with St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.

On June 26, 1971, Tony was united in Holy Matrimony with his high school sweetheart Barbara Garrett. Their union was blessed with two children.

At an early age, Tony began working for local hardware and feed store where his hard work and dedication afforded him the opportunity to eventually own and operate it while servicing his community. After retiring from the Hardware business after many years, Tony went to work for Crosby ISD where he left a lasting impression on the many people he encountered even after his final retirement in 2019.

A man with many talents and trades, Tony dedicated his life to helping others, teaching them life skills, making them laugh, and being the life of all environments he graced. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his tractors, working in and around the house, and taking on many odd projects with his big brother and best friend Geter, amongst other things.

On January 18, 2021, our Lord and Savior called Tony home after a brief fight with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents; Percy and Bernice Richard, his brother; Joseph Stanley "T-Bay" Richard, and his twin sister; Delores Richard.

He leaves to cherish his memory: the love of his life, his wife Barbara Richard; children: Antonyette Richard and Milton Richard; grandsons: Dunstan "PawPaw's Boy" Bennett, KieAdryan Richard (Betsy), Jordan Fields, and Jaden Fields; one great-grandson: Ja'siel Richard; brothers: Joseph Wilfred "Jack" Richard (Dorothy), Joseph Bradley Richard, and Adley "Geter" Richard; one sister: Patricia Richard; sisters-in-law: Patricia Richard and Dorothy Chevalier; brothers-in-law: Ocie Garrett Jr. (Ada), Odis Garrett, and Roger Garrett; bonus son: Billy Herbet (Bridget); bonus grandson: Devin Craven (Amberly); God-children: Ashley Burley and Michkeal Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing will be held on January 30, 2021, 9:00 am to 10:30 am followed by 11:00 am Funeral services at Duncan Mortuary Chapel, 5806 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028.

Unfortunately due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions, the funeral service will be reserved for family. Thank you for understanding.
