Alexander Joseph Lewis was born on July 30, 1945 in St. Martinville, Louisiana.

As a young adult Alexander relocated to Houston Texas.

Alexander was known by many nicknames, one to be "Jack"

At an early age he began his Catholic faith at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, Louisiana later remaining devoted at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Houston Texas. As where he enjoyed worshiping with his family.

Alexander began working at Mike Baker as a truck driver in Louisiana, carrying on to do the same in Houston Texas as a commercial, independent contract driver and a bus driver for HoustonISD and ending his career path at PearlandISD for over 15 years. As well as being a great skillful man of many other talents.

Alexander enjoyed traveling, western movies, mechanic work, bidding, zydeco dancing, partying and being a showstopper at family and friend gatherings.

Alexander raised three loving children Shon Lewis, Alexander Lewis Jr. and Jalisa Lewis.

Alexander had an infectious and loving sense of humor, always keeping everyone around him laughing. He was always dependable and reliable for everyone whom he encounters. He also had a special love for his grandchildren as he spoiled them all. He was a well-rounded charismatic person to everyone he met.

Alexander was appreciated as a devoted son, father, brother, husband, godfather, uncle and friend.

Alexander preceded in death by his father Early Lewis, mother Estelle Lewis, first wife Bernice Lewis, brothers Curley Lewis and Nolan Lewis, and sister Syrina Lewis.

Alexander leaves behind to cherish in memory his life partner Johnnie Armstrong of many years, three children, Shon Lewis, Alexander Lewis Jr., Jalisa Lewis, five grandchildren DeVante Crear Sr., Alexander Lewis III, Erin Davis, AD'Yna Thomas, and Adja Thomas, great grandchild DeVante Crear, Jr., two sisters Margaret Lawrence and Clara (Oswald Sr))Anthony, nephews Oswald Anthony Jr, Trevor Anthony, Elworth Anthony Kevin Anthony, Nathaniel Lawrence, Sidney Lawrence, Jr. nieces Shanan Anthony Vital, and Christella Torrence five god-children Christella Torrence, Jarrell Lawrence, Paula Ambrose Fontent,, Connie Alex, and Joey Smith a host of, other nieces and nephews family members & friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020, from 5 to 8 pm at Duncan Mortuary Chapel, 5806 N. Wayside Dr., Houston, TX 77028.

Funeral services for Mr. Lewis will be on Saturday October 17, 2020 at Notre Dame Catholic Church which is located on 240 Gray St., St. Martinville, Louisiana 70582.

Viewing will start at 8:00 am followed by an 11:00 am Funeral.

Interment: Saint Michael Cemetery.
